Most people have a notion that all of the "Rambo, John J." movies contain scene after bloody scene of horrific, mindless violence perpetrated against various Asian ethnicities and/or entire countries.
Well, they mostly do, but the first one is surprisingly bloodless, if you go back and watch it. The movie is more indicative of earlier and (dare I say it) contemplative Stallone.
The later movies turn into bloodbaths, but the first one had a very poignant, if underscored, message about the war in Vietnam, whereas the later flicks turned into jingoistic romps through countries full of brown people, ending with the fourth one, a humorously and disgustingly over-the-top blood feast.
