To Lighten the Day

...And just to prove that people in Congress are just as out-of-touch as ever, watch this video of Congressman Joe Pitts explaining the detrimental effect Grand Theft Auto may have on youth.

Jackass.

Awesome! Not Pitts, but Jon Stewart. I need to get back to watching that... Anyway, isn't that incredibly elitist of the representative to say? First of all, I don't really agree with the whole violent videogame=violent child arguement. There may be a correllation, sure, but in no means can there be a causation proved. Just because you see something in a videogame (or do something, rather) does not mean you think eith conciously or subconciously that it is acceptable/valid/reasonable behavior in the real world. That, my friends, is poppycock. Back to the Pitts, why does he suppose that a poorer kid would respond in a baser manner? Is a poor kid too dumb to figure out the difference between a game and reality? What an ignorant old man...
